What is a Doula ?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Unlike a doctor or midwife, a doula doesn’t provide medical care but focuses on offering comfort, advocacy, and encouragement to help ensure a positive and empowering birth experience. Whether it’s coaching through contractions, creating a calming birth environment, or simply being a reassuring presence, a doula is there to support your unique needs and choices every step of the way.

Benefits of having a doula:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Continuous support during labor

  • Reduced risk of C-sections

  • Advocacy for your birth preferences

  • Non-medical pain management techniques

  • Postpartum care and guidance

  • Breastfeeding support
